Lionel Messi is an Argentine professional footballer who was born on June 24, 1987, in Rosario, Argentina,  and is widely recognized as one of the best players of all time. He is presently a forward with Inter Miami as well as the Argentina national team.

Messi started the journey of his football from his early years. At the age of five, he joined his local team, Grandoli, where his abilities drew the attention of scouts from Newell's Old Boys, a well-known Argentine club. Messi rose through the juvenile ranks rapidly, dazzled by his pace, technique, and remarkable ball control. He was initially diagnosed with a growth hormone deficit, which resulted in him being significantly smaller than his peers. His talent on the pitch, though, was clear from an early age, and he soon ascended through the ranks of his local club, Newell's Old Boys.

Messi was offered a trial at Barcelona, one of the world's largest football clubs, when he was 13 years old. He wowed scouts with his abilities and was granted a seat in the club's youth academy, La Masia. Messi traveled to Spain with his family and began training at La Masia, where he refined his skills under the direction of some of the game's top trainers.

Messi made his first-team debut for Barcelona in a friendly match against Porto in 2004, when he was 17 years old. He quickly established himself as a key player for the club, scoring his first goal in a league match against Albacete in May 2005.

 

Achievements

·       Messi has won the FIFA Ballon d'Or award seven times (as of 2021).  He was the recipient of the prize in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2019, and 2020.

Messi and FC Barcelona have won the UEFA Champions League four times. He won the award in 2006, 2009, 2011, and 2015. .

Messi has won the Spanish La Liga title multiple times with FC Barcelona. He has ten league titles: 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2018.   

Messi has also seven times won the Copa del Rey, Spain's domestic cup competition, with FC Barcelona. He won it in 2009, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2021.

Messi has won the Golden Shoe six times, which is granted to the top goal scorer in European leagues. He received it in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2017, 2018, and 2019.

Messi owns several goal-scoring records, including the most goals in a calendar year (91 in 2012.

Messi won the World Cup as Argentina's captain in 2022.

 Argentina's all-time leading goal scorer: Messi became the country's all-time leading goal scorer. He had around 70 goals for the national team as of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021.

Messi moved to Inter Miami in 2023 after spending his entire career at Paris Saint-Germain. Despite being in his late 30s, Messi is one of the game's most entertaining players, and his impact on the sport will be felt for generations to come.
